The Mason County Toys for Kids Association and the City of Pt. Pleasant invite Mason County schools, businesses, churches, organizations, individuals, groups, and clubs to participate in the annual “Light of Christmas” tree project.
To make this happen, we encourage you to decorate a “themed” Christmas tree of your choice to display along the sidewalk at Gunn Park (217 4th St, Point Pleasant, WV 25550 — where the Mothman Statue is located), leading up to the official city Christmas tree.
If you would like to take part in this exciting endeavor, please read the following instructions:
1. Each school, business, church, organization, individual, group, or club will provide a real 6-8 foot tree at the designated area for decorating.
2. Decorations can be made or purchased.
3. Trees will be put in place a week before the tree lighting ceremony.
4. Your responsibilities include: LED lights, secure decorations to your tree, attach a sign to your tree stating the purpose and or business/group name, and supply an outdoor extension cord for hook up.
Please note that the tree and decorations will be exposed to the elements for a month. Weatherproof the decorations and tightly secure them with zip ties onto your tree so they will not blow away.
5. After January 1 and before January 8, you are responsible for taking any decorations off your tree that you would like to keep for another year; otherwise, the entire tree will be disposed of by the city department.
The lighting of the trees will take place after the Christmas parade and during the city tree lighting ceremony on the first Friday in December. (Parade date subject to change).

There is a $30.00 donation for entry, which goes to the Mason County Toys for Kids Association to provide toys to less fortunate children in Mason County.
